Problem (two related items)

  1. Spoken step announcements don't play on Android. The voice toggle is on, but no text-to-speech output is heard in the Capacitor build (works in desktop browser).
  2. No end-of-step warning. Even where audio works, there is no heads-up as a step is about to end — you'd have to stare at the ring.

Repro (1)

  1. On Android, start any focus playlist with voice enabled
  2. Let a step finish → next step starts silently (no speech; only the short beep, if that)

Expected: the transition is announced aloud ("Done. Next: …"), as on desktop.
Actual: silence on Android.

Request (2)

Add an audible warning shortly before a step ends (e.g. a tone or short countdown for the last ~10 seconds), so you can wrap up without watching the screen. Should respect the voice/mute toggle.

Suspected cause for (1) (for whoever picks this up)

Web Speech API voices/TTS engine behave differently inside the Android WebView (no voices loaded, speechSynthesis muted until user gesture, or engine missing). May need a native TTS plugin or Capacitor audio handling instead of relying on the WebView.

Acceptance

  • Step transitions are announced aloud on the Android release build
  • A warning tone/countdown plays near the end of each step
  • Both respect the existing mute toggle; no audio when muted
